Mafia Don Extorts Law Firms

Post by allan »

Weeks into his second term, Don Trump started issuing executive orders and presidential memorandums targeting specific lawyers and law firms with the intent to extort them and exact revenge. The Don threatened to revoke security clearances, cancel existing government contracts and blacklist the firms from future government work. Many pathetic law firms voluntarily paid a ransom on the mere threat of a presidential memorandum or executive order against them.

Nine law firms agreed to give $940M in free legal services:

1) Paul, Weiss LLP, founded 1875, is a multinational law firm in New York City.
$40M shakedown.
Trump Executive Order 14237:
Federal Register: Addressing Risks From Paul Weiss

2) Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, founded 1948, is a multinational law firm in New York City.
$100M voluntary shakedown.
